Are Indian tutors any good for British exams?

While it's true there are some pretty awful tutors from India, with a bit of care and diligence British parents can locate excellent and experienced online tutors from India for teaching mathematics and the sciences, and save a bundle in the process.

While we can't speak for other tutors from India, for ourselves we can say that our INDIAMATHS.COM tutors are native English speakers, educated in the Cambridge systems, possess at least a masters or Ph.D in mathematics, engineering or science, have decades of teaching experience teaching international students for Cambridge, Edexcel, AQA, IB exams and are up-to-date with the current syllabus and textbooks for these exams.

Additionally, several of our tutors are approved by the IGCSE association.

There are many poorly educated fake teachers in India with fake degrees from fake universities in India. In 2011 the British Govt was the victim of a scam perpetrated by a company which contracted to teach mathematics to UK school students by specially trained mathematics teachers from the Punjab India. Actually the teachers were from Punjab (Pakistan) and they mostly had fake degrees. Curiously, the UK Govt went ahead with this rotten plan despite opposition from UK teachers.

The move – thought to be the first of its kind – is unpopular with at least one teaching union, which said it should be discouraged at all costs. Chris Keates, general secretary of the Nasuwt union, called the idea "wrong on so many levels".
